NEWS: Claudian Artist Awarded International Prize Phoenix for the Arts

Once again, Jhon Paulo Sto. Domingo, a talented student from the College of Education and Liberal Arts, showcases his masterpiece on the international stage. He has been honored with the International Prize Phoenix for the Arts in Venice, Italy.


The Phoenix for the Arts is awarded to exceptional artists worldwide for their artistic merit, recognizing those who have distinguished themselves through their artistic research and stylistic value in their works. The award is open to painters, sculptors, photographers, video artists, performers, and digital artists.


Jhon Paul Sto. Domingo, a self-taught artist under the name "Juan El Pintor", hails from Teresa, Rizal. His works are inspired by the renowned Pablo Picasso and delve into his own rendition of abstract cubism, incorporating his unique artistic vision. Sto. Domingo’s subjects explore the human condition, scenery, objects, and irregular forms, drawing inspiration from his personal experiences, which are evident in his distinctive art style.


His work has been showcased in various art exhibitions locally and, most recently, in Busan, Korea.
