Benchmarking Visit and MOU Signing Between Huachiew Chalermprakiet University and Tomas Claudio Colleges

On February 21, 2025, Huachiew Chalermprakiet University (HCU) in Samut Prakan, Thailand hosted a significant benchmarking visit from Tomas Claudio Colleges (TCC). The visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), formally marking the beginning of a strategic international academic partnership between the two institutions.
The TCC delegation was composed of Dr. Antonio R. Mateo, Vice Chairman of the Board; Dr. Ma. Charisse B. Vedaña, Dean of the College of Criminology; Dr. Myra S. J. Santos, Dean of the College of Computer Studies; Dr. Andrea Diane I. Bernabe, Community Extension Office Head; Dr. John Patrick B. De Jesus, International Relations Officer; along with faculty and staff from the College of Criminology.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Jonathan R. Carreon, Vice President for Academic Affairs of HCU, and his team. They facilitated an extensive tour of HCU’s facilities, including the library with its wide e-book access and study spaces, well-equipped laboratories for hands-on learning, and student canteens. Dr. Carreon also shared valuable insights into HCU’s academic practices, policies, and campus regulations.
The visit fostered open dialogue and collaboration, with discussions focusing on potential joint initiatives such as student and faculty exchange programs, forensic training, research collaborations, and cultural exchange activities.
A major highlight of the visit was the formal MOU signing, which solidified both institutions’ commitment to a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership. This agreement lays the foundation for collaborative programs that will enrich the academic and professional experiences of both students and faculty.
