FACULTY DEVELOPMENT: Seminar on Artificial Intelligence šŸ¤–šŸ“˜

On September 12, 2025, the Faculty Development SeminarĀ held at the DH Soriano Multimedia Hall (AVR)Ā brought together the academic community of Tomas Claudio Colleges (TCC)Ā for a timely and insightful discussion on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI)Ā in education.


The event was graced by TCC President Dr. Edmund Francisco, Chief Academic Officer Dr. Eva De Rosas, and TCC Chairman of the Board Dr. Felino Angeles, alongside the deansĀ of various programs and teaching staff from both the Basic Education DepartmentĀ and the College level. The seminar emphasized the growing necessity for educators to embrace AI as a vital component of faculty development, recognizing its transformative potential in the classroom and beyond.


Dr. Angel De JesusĀ opened the morning session with an engaging talk on AI as a partner in education and society.Ā He guided participants through the foundational concepts, current trends, and practical applications of AI, underscoring that AI should not be viewed as a threat but as a valuable allyĀ in enhancing the educational mission.


In the afternoon, the seminar continued online with Dr. Marina Magnolia Ninonbla, who discussed the integration of AI in teaching, research, and professional practice.Ā She also addressed the ethical considerations and challengesĀ of adopting AI in educational and workplace settings, inspiring participants to pursue responsible and mindful innovation.


This enriching seminar reaffirmed TCC’s commitment to forward-thinking, adaptive, and globally competitive education.Ā As technology continues to advance, so must the educators who guide the next generation.
