Today, we commemorate Andres Bonifacio Day, honoring one of the most influential heroes in Philippine history. Andres Bonifacio, known as the Father of the Philippine Revolution, was the founder and Supremo of the Katipunan—the secret society that ignited the nation’s struggle against Spanish colonial rule.

Despite growing up with limited resources, Bonifacio developed a deep sense of nationalism and an unwavering desire for freedom. His leadership in uniting Filipinos and initiating the revolt—symbolized by the historic Cry of Pugad Lawin—sparked the movement that would eventually lead to Philippine independence.

Today, we honor his courage, dedication, and enduring legacy, which continue to shape the Filipino identity and inspire the nation’s ongoing pursuit of liberty and justice.
