Today, May 7, we commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Tomas Mateo Claudio.
Tomas Claudio was born on May 7, 1892, in Morong, Rizal, Philippines, and tragically passed away on June 29, 1918, in France during World War I.
Coming from humble beginnings, he worked tirelessly to pursue an education. He eventually migrated to the United States, where he studied and worked while also serving in the U.S. Army during World War I.
His life symbolizes courage, sacrifice, and Filipino excellence abroad. Though he fought under a foreign flag, his identity as a Filipino and his willingness to serve in a global conflict reflect the strength and character of the Filipino people.
