As part of the 75th Founding Anniversary Celebration, an Employee Seminar on Mental Wellness in the Workplace was held on August 14, 2025, at the DH Soriano Multimedia Hall (AVR). The activity was spearheaded by the Human Resource Department, reinforcing TCC’s commitment to caring for the overall well-being of its employees.
The event was graced by TCC President Dr. Edmund Francisco, Chief Academic Officer Dr. Eva De Rosas, and Dr. Ruel Manalo, overall chairperson of the 75th Founding Anniversary celebration. Their presence underscored the importance of prioritizing mental wellness alongside professional growth within the institution.
The resource speaker, Dr. Mae Fely Flordeliza Comendador, delivered an insightful discussion on workplace mental wellness, encouraging employees to “identify the elephant in the room, and do something about it.” She emphasized the importance of acknowledging hidden issues such as stress, burnout, and personal struggles—reminding everyone that facing these challenges directly allows for healthier communication, stronger collaboration, and a more supportive work environment.
The seminar also highlighted the value of mental wellness programs in fostering openness, empathy, and mutual support in the workplace. These initiatives not only help employees manage stress and maintain balance but also contribute to improved productivity, reduced turnover, and greater job satisfaction.
Through this meaningful seminar, TCC once again affirmed its commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the holistic well-being of its people. As the institution celebrates 75 years, this program reinforced the truth that TCC grows stronger when its people are healthy in mind, body, and spirit.
